Just came back from work. Busy day. Been carrying my coughing and sneezing everywhere I go for the past few days. Felt like an E.T. too - Big and heavy head =( Makes u wonder what is life like being an E.T.??? hmmm...
Thank God that I'm recovering now. Feeling much better after having nothing but porridge on my dining table, yeah (",)
Just a few quick reminders:
1) PLEASE PLEASE take care of your health! Esp. when there's a change of weather. Germs seems like to float around times like these. 2) BEWARE of who you are standing/sitting/existing with. Turn your radars on and run away from people of coughing and sneezing - like me - I know that they don't mind. Seriously. 3) LOTS OF SLEEP when you are feeling lots of pain. 4) EAT PORRIDGE. It works! 5) APPLES. Take them, a good way for keep the doctors away. (Valid advise in China). 6) Most importantly, PRAY!!! Ask for the good man above to protect you, and He will. Trust me.
Did you ever realize how beautiful language can be? I mean sometimes when you put two of a different kind together, side by side, you can really find some interesting stuff.
For e.g. 最好的男人是谁? Most ladies would say their husband, boyfriend, daddy, the Father... But actually it is 伴郎 in the wedding. "The-Best-Man". Which means even better than the bridegroom himself. Maybe that explains why the Western society has been the leader in divorce rates. They still don't know that they should marry "The-Best-Man" to have a happy life.
In English, 伴娘 is called "The Bride's Maid", direct translated as 新娘的佣人(for SEA) or 新娘的阿姨 (for China) - 打扫的。Not much dignity in it I guess. Haha.
However, the Chinese gives each a more balance name; 伴郎伴娘, looks more equal doesn't it. Quite surprising from a once female-discriminating society though.
For those who are enthu- about becoming "The-Best-Man" or "The Bride's Maid", please just ignore me and be one happi- and merrily. I'm just bored and trying to be crappy.
Don't mind if you wanna share share some beauty of language though...
