My Cool Housemate

Hi everybody, I've just came back from my housemate's performance at 上海东方艺术中心。And he's so cool. Basically he's the lead engineer for General Motors, and he's heading the car body department. So if you see any Chevvy, or Buick, or any GM cars, basically whatever you can see from the outside, except the wheels is from this guys department.

His hobbies are cool! He like DJ-ing, rapping, and hip-hop dancing. For his freetime, beside reading the bible and having our weekly prayer meeting, he just scatches some turn-tables. By the way, we have 2 at home. So today, as his company is having the annual performance thing, instead of an engineer, he just became rapper and dancer.

But the coolest thing about him is that he loves God so much! He wants to share Christ love with everybody esp. those in his work place. Thus the rap song he's doin' today is about Jesus. And let me tell ya' how it ended, it ended like this "remember yo'... one way, one truth, one life, Jesus Christ..." through his mouth, into the mic, out from the auditorium speakers, right into the ear of almost a thousand people from his company. The best part... everybody clapped their hands...

Oh yah, he has a cool name too. His name is King, an ABC from San Francisco.

Here's a little clip from his practise. Just click the button 'play', but do not drag... Enjoy...

I Need Some Prayers

Yes yes, I heard your complains. I have been so lazy to write. I AM SO SORRY!!! Thank you for all your naggings... you deserve some nasi lemak tambah ayam for it... Ahhh... as you can see, I miss home and all the beautiful people in it... FYI, I'll be back home soon... Muahahaha...

Let me introduce to you a great friend of mine here. He’s name is Tony. Tony is my co-worker. We have been working together for so many projects lately. He and I are jokers. Working with him is such an enjoyment. He’s dream is to come to Malaysia this year to climb Mount Kinabalu with me. (Yes, Mount KK is still on my mind for some of you out there!)

Not sure what happened, as I arrived for work this morning, there sat Tony alone and looking so pale. He got a fever attack. Can you imagine that he went to hospital all by himself at 3am this morning? And even more, he came to office to finish up some urgent work! Wow… He went back after that of course.

BUT I wanna thank God to give me an open door to pray for Tony. Joy came to me because he asked me the name whom I pray to. I gladly answered of course. One thing I hope is for him to see God’s hand. Please pray with me for my best Chinese native friend.

cerecare - a place of kindness

Last Saturday, a fellow student of mine named FuCai brought me to Cerecare. This is a place where kids with Cerebral Palsy are taken care of. Finally! I’ve got the chance to visit them, after hearing so much and trying so hard to raise funds for them. Cerecare is very close to us as they are one of our beneficiaries under SHEN (Shanghai House of Entrepreneur) social welfare programs. We went to deliver their dinner—sponsored Christina bread.

As we stepped into the facility that houses 30 kids, it was deafening silence that welcomed us. “Where are the noises, are the kids all napping?” It was out of my expectation. After greeting Miss Liu, the teacher in-charge, we sent food to the kitchen. “This is my first time here”, I told Miss Liu. “Oh! Please let me show you around!” And there we stood, a long corridor ahead of us, and we meet with the kids, all of them, grouped into different rooms according to their abilities.

The kids were beautiful. Even though they don’t really smiles back at you; even though they don’t turn around and look at you when you call their names; even though they don’t run towards you and hug you, even though they are strapped around their small body structure, unto some equipment that suppose to help their muscle to relax, they were beautiful. Now I came to understand the quiet greeting of this place. Things are different here. Yet I believe that in their little souls, they were smiling, making faces, pulling your hands and Bermudas, running about with teachers feeling helpless. In their little souls, they are same with most other children. I really believe.

“Cerecare doesn’t only help kids with physiotherapy; we also help them in their emotions and thinking process…” “Cerecare is working hard so that these children can take care themselves…” “Cerecare is still looking diligently for sponsors…” “Cerecare is hoping that local schools will take in these kids into their classrooms…”

Suddenly I felt attached to this place…

why am i in shanghai?

yeah... so the link actually shows that i'm in this program call the 'nus overseas college', so for frens whom i've not updated, here i am in shanghai...

basically, i'll be here for a year to work and to study, to meet people and share the good news... and of course travel... then after that, i'm supposed to get a minor in 'technopreneurship' (chim word, i know) if there no 'accidents', that is...now i'm working for a company call AT Villa, italian firm that specialises in building lab facilities. schooling is in fudan... travel wise... hopefully go to as many places as possible... just been to huangshan... u all can see from my previous posting... the scenery is simply magnificient!

I could say that i'm really blessed to have the opportunity to come for this program. Y? cos is really an eye-opener for me to see the world... its really different here in shanghai compare to singapore or malaysia...

my hope for this trip is to learn as much as possible, especially in terms of what doin business in china is really like... and also to make valuable friendship... and to share the love of God with the people around me... and to expect that His will and His plan for my life to be reviewed to me more clearly...

till i see ya during CNY 2007... take care k?

a special day to my special 'J'

hooray!
22nd September today;
a very very special friday;
for me...

remember those times of countless screenplay;
two quivery shadows along the river sideway;
faint whispers found coming from the stairs;
suddenly it feels like yesterday...

"Father, in Your name pray;
thank you for leading 'J';
out of the miry clay;
into your perfect way;
reflect on her your glorious rays..."

till i see you next holiday,
from the bottom of my heart i say,
happy birthday!
my lovely princess, 'J'...

hi family & frens

Greetings dear family, bro and sis and frens. It has been almost a month since I have left to Shanghai. How's everyone? I'm very fine here. Thank God. Most of the stuff - housing, work, studies, C fellowship - are settled down finally. Hope to give u all more updates of what's been happening to me.

So for today, please allow me to intro to you my neighborhood. Well, I hope that you still can see the map clearly even though this is the best resolution I can get. heh. So yah, our (me and 3 other classmates) place is in Pudong, 浦东, next to the Century Park (世纪公园) and is very near the Shanghai Science and Technology Center, 上海科技馆 (a place where you get to see very beautiful Pudong night skyline). The nearest bus stop which leads to my workplace is around 500m walk away.

So everyday, walk and take bus to work. Workplace is also very near, about 3.5km. But i tell u, in the mornin, its about 30-45mins of bus ride. haha. cos of jam on the road and "in the bus". tell you more about it nx time.

7 mins walk is all that needed to go to the MRT station which can lead you to almost all parts of Shanghai. They really have quite a complicated and advance transportation system here...
